“Sharil was recently appointed by the Minister of Finance to the board of directors of Digital Nasional Bhd (DNB), a special purpose vehicle owned by the government tasked with the development and deployment of a wholesale 5G network for Malaysia, ” the company said in a statement yesterday.

PETALING JAYA: Privasia Technology Bhd will see its independent non-executive chairman Datuk Mohamed Sharil Tarmizi resigning with immediate effect following his appointment to a government position.

“Sharil was recently appointed by the Minister of Finance to the board of directors of Digital Nasional Bhd (DNB), a special purpose vehicle owned by the government tasked with the development and deployment of a wholesale 5G network for Malaysia, ” the company said in a statement yesterday.

As part of regulatory compliance and requirement for good governance, a DNB director cannot also be a director of a telecommunications service provider.
