Subang Airport car park upgrading to complete by 3Q, 200 extra parking bays

MAHB group CEO Datuk Mohd Shukrie Mohd Salleh

KUALA LUMPUR: Subang Airport (SZB) car park bay is set to get an upgrade by the third quarter of 2021, which will see it having an extra 200 parking bays bringing the total to 1,000, Malaysia Airports Holdings Bhd (MAHB) said today.

Among others, the upgrade work includes improving lightings with heavy duty spotlights and enhancing directional signage for easy navigation.

"More importantly, we will be installing the latest state-of-the-art video surveillance cameras (CCTV) to ensure the continued safety of users. The total car park space is 34,484 square metres for the 1,000 bays,” MAHB group chief executive officer Datuk Mohd Shukrie Mohd Salleh said.

In the Subang Airport Regeneration plan, we envision to provide optimum growth potential for commercial aviation and aerospace segments at SZB in line with the national plans and ambitions.

"We are boosting the total user experience of Subang Airport from all angles. Refurbishing the car parks is one of the initiatives we have undertaken as part of providing important infrastructure for a seamless experience,” he said in a statement here today.

The two car parks that will be refurbished are located at the terminal and MRO & Helicopter Center; and they serve the public and the airport staff working with the various operators.

With SZB poised as the region’s preferred one-stop aerospace hub, MAHB is anticipating the growth and development of its tenants in the five-year Subang Airport Regeneration plan.

The plan encompasses the provision of end-to-end services to support the operators with complete infrastructures including developing leasable facilities, namely hangars, aircraft component repair workshops and aero-structure manufacturing facilities for third party operators. - Bernama
