Kerjaya Prospek bags RM28.39m contract in Penang

KUALA LUMPUR: Kerjaya Prospek Group Bhd has secured a RM28.39mil contract to carry out earthworks and piling for a serviced apartments project on a reclaimed site in Penang.

It said on Wednesday its unit, Kerjaya Prospek (M) Sdn Bhd had accepted a letter of award from Persada Mentari Sdn Bhd, an indirect subsidiary company of Eastern & Oriental Bhd.

The contract is to carry out the site and earthworks, foundation piling system and pile caps construction, basement construction for two blocks of 35-storey service apartments in phase two of Seri Tanjung Pinang (Phase 2A).

It said the contract was expected to start on May 18 and will take 12 months to complete.

“This contract brings the year-to-date contract replenishment for 2021 to RM384.5mil and is expected to provide additional stream of revenue for the group over the next one year, ” it said.

Kerjaya executive chairman Datuk Tee Eng Ho said this was the third contract for this year in such quick succession, which is expected to contribute positively to the group’s earnings and net assets per share for the financial years 2021 and 2022.

He said the group won two contracts last month which amounted to RM356.1mil and this reflects its ability to replenish the order book even during the current challenging environment.
