PETALING JAYA: Worldwide sales of semiconductor manufacturing equipment surged 19% to a new all-time high of US$71.2bil in 2020 from US$59.8bil in 2019, according to US-based Semiconductor Equipment Manufacturers Industry (SEMI).
In a statement, SEMI said for the first time, China claimed the largest market for new semiconductor equipment with sales growth of 39% to US$18.72bil.
