KUALA LUMPUR: Press Metal Aluminium Holdings Bhd reported that there was minimal interruption to its operations following a fire incident at its new phase three smelter in Samalaju Industrial Park in Bintulu, Sarawak.
In a statement yesterday, the manufacturer of aluminum products said that the incident, which occurred at about 4.30am on Saturday, affected one smelting pot out of a total of 300 in the plant, which is currently under commissioning.
“Operations in our phase one and two smelters are uninterrupted and running as normal. The fire was extinguished within 20 minutes and the incident did not cause any harm to any persons.
