KUALA LUMPUR: The Ministry of Plantation Industries and Commodities (MPIC) is confident the economic recovery strategy under the Strategic Programme to Empower the People and the Economy (Pemerkasa) will boost the country’s agricommodity sector.

Its Minister Datuk Dr Mohd Khairuddin Aman Razali said the additional fund of RM20mil in the form of matching grants to assist Koperasi Penanaman Sawit Mampan (KPSM) allocated under Pemerkasa is also expected to help MPIC achieve the 2021 palm oil export target of RM75bil following the increase in machinery purchases and mechanisation gains can be enhanced. — Bernama
