KUALA LUMPUR: Glove makers continued to lose ground in late morning trade on Wednesday while pharma stocks also followed as the vaccines for the Covid-19 are rolled out.
At 10.41am, Hartalega was down 50 sen to RM10.56, Top Glove 31 sen to RM5.36 and Supermax 30 sen to RM5.15.
Pharmaniaga fell 35 sen to RM4.41 and Duopharma
23 sen to RM3.20.
Tech and engineering stocks joined the decline, with SAM Engineering lost 43 sen to RM7 while investors took profit on KESM and MPI. KESM fell 28 sen to RM15.82 and MPI 18 sen to RM36.20.
The FBM KLCI rose 7.35 points or 0.47% to 1,572.40. Turnover was 4.96 billion shares valued at RM2.08bil.
However, the broader market weakened with decliners beating advancers three to two or 600 losers to 405 gainers and 408 counters unchanged.
