Strong start for UMW automotive ops


UMW Holdings Bhd president and group chief executive officer Datuk Ahmad Fuaad Kenali (pic)said he is grateful to the government for allowing car assembly, showroom and service centre operations under the current movement control order.

PETALING JAYA: The UMW Group’s automotive division kicked off the year strongly, following sustained demand as a result of the extension of the sales tax exemption until June 30,2021.

In a statement, it said subsidiary UMW Toyota Motor (UMWT) sold 3,845 units in January 2021,4.1% higher than the 3,692 units registered in the same month last year.
