Petronas: PFLNG Dua to deliver first LNG cargo in March


Petronas' vice-president (LNG Asset), Zakaria Kasah (pic) said despite operating in a challenging environment exacerbated by the Covid-19 pandemic, Petronas managed to commission the megastructure and achieve first LNG production in seven days upon the first gas in.

KUALA LUMPUR: Petroliam Nasional Bhd’s (Petronas) second Floating Liquefied Natural Gas (FLNG) facility, PFLNG DUA is expected to deliver its first LNG cargo to customers by the middle of March 2021 after a successful first drop production.

In a statement, Petronas said the “historic” achievement signifies the ability of PFLNG DUA topside facility to produce on spec LNG product, which further validates the technology concept of floating LNG solutions for deepwater gas fields.
