KUALA LUMPUR: Menang Corporation Bhd has suspended two non-independent and non-executive directors from exercising their duties and functions with immediate effect.

In a statement to Bursa Malaysia on Monday, it said the board of directors had resolved to suspend Datuk Shun Leong Kwong and Marianna Aly Shun.

Menang Corp said the suspension would be in effect until the conclusion of the findings by an independent investigative committee.

The company claimed the reason for Shun’s suspension was to investigate his managing and handling of some land transactions in Seremban 3 and the company's subsidiaries.

As for Marianna, it said the reason was to investigate her conduct in the planning and the organising of the last AGM of the company on Dec 30, last year.

Menang Corp said the independent investigative committee would comprise of its two independent directors Yee Chun Lin and Chee Wai Hong while the third is Loo Hee Guan, advocate and solicitor as an independent external advisor.
