Exports hit record RM95.7bil in December

KUALA LUMPUR: Malaysia recorded the highest exports of RM95.7bil in December, supported by both re-exports and domestic exports.

In its statement yesterday, the Statistics Department said exports in December 2020 were 10.8% higher from a year ago and exceeded the 6.6% forecast by analysts surveyed by Reuters. Re-exports stood at RM17.6bil, which contributed 18.4% to total exports, surging by 22.9%, while domestic export was valued at RM78.1bil, growing by 8.3% year-on-year (y-o-y).
