Auto sector to do better this year on new launches, incentives

Taking a detailed look at the passenger vehicles segment in December, Kenanga research noted that the strongest month-on-month take-up rate came from Toyota, Honda and Mazda, while the strongest year-on-year growth came from Mazda and Honda.

PETALING JAYA: This year could potentially be a better year for the automotive sector.

This will be supported by new launches, better incentives under the National Automotive Policy 2020, positive impact from Bank Negara’s overnight policy rate cut and the pre-emptive measures to assist those financially challenged as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic, Kenanga Research said in a report.
