Increased demand for freight services a boost


CGS-CIMB Research said that freight rates have climbed by around 300% to 400% for both export and import shipments since the end of the first half of 2020 and in turn, this has led to an increase in freight-related services, such as freight forwarding and handling fees. KUALA LUMPUR: Freight Management Holdings Bhd (FMH) is confident to post stronger earnings in the upcoming financial results supported by increased demand for freight services, disposal of its loss-making businesses and better economies of scale, said CGS-CIMB Research.

In the first quarter ended Sept 30 (1Q21), the research house said freight-related services of the group has accounted to about 77.2% of the quarter’s revenue.
