KUALA LUMPUR: Shares in Dagang Nexchange Bhd (DNeX) fell marginally in early trade after clarifying that it has no definitive agreement to acquire SilTerra Malaysia Sdn Bhd.
DNeX, the second most heavily traded counter, fell 1.96%, or 0.5 sen to 25 sen with 58.1 million shares done. DNeX-WD
DNeX said it has not entered into any definitive agreement to acquire Silterra.
It said the company nevertheless is constantly evaluating various proposals to grow its business organically or through acquisitions including that of SilTerra.
“DNeX will make the necessary announcement when there is any material development or when transactions are entered into,” it said.
Reports have speculated that Khazanah Nasional Bhd was to have made a decision on Silterra’s sale early this week.
