Greatech buys land in Penang

Greatech intends to relocate its manufacturing activities from Kedah to the new facility.

GEORGE TOWN: Greatech Technology Bhd has acquired a piece of land from the Penang Development Corp for the construction of a new operational facility.

The plot, measuring 5.9011 acres, is located at the Batu Kawan IndustrialPark.

The company will utilise internally generated funds for the acquisition which will cost RM13.4mil.

Greatech intends to relocate its manufacturing activities from Kedah to the new facility.

Construction of the new facility is expected to commence by the end of the first quarter of 2021, and is expected to be completed by the end of the year.

The relocation would enable the group to reduce its rental commitment and reduce travel time across its facilities. The increased built-up area would also enable it to significantly increase its capacity to cater for future orders.
