Malakoff 3Q net profit falls 46% to RM50.8m


Malakoff said the group was set to expand its waste management footprint by venturing into waste-to-energy (WTE), biogas and biomass power plants.

KUALA LUMPUR: Independent power producer Malakoff Bhd's net profit fell by 46.2% to RM50.80mil in the third quarter ended Sept 30 due to lower contributions from its coal plants and absence of one-off gains a year ago.

It announced on Tuesday its net profit fell from RM94.49mil a year ago. Its revenue fell by 20.2% to RM1.48bil from RM1.86bil a year ago. Earnings per share were 1.04 sen compared with 1.93 sen.
