Connecting 430 schools

Celcom Axiata Bhd CEO Idham Nawawi (pic) applauds the government’s decision on the implementation of the Jendela initiative that focuses on the expansion of broadband services, ensuring connectivity provision for Malaysian schools nationwide, and various initiatives towards the development and sustainability of the nation’s digital economy.

PETALING JAYA: The RM500mil allocation by the government in Budget 2021 to connect 430 schools is a step in the right direction to spur e-learning and broaden the broadband reach across the country.

For now, it remains unclear if the schools will be connected via fibre or wireless technology or a combination of both, as that was not specified in the Budget 2021 speech by the Finance Minister.
