Bank Negara foreign reserves fall to US$104.6bil as at Oct 30

KUALA LUMPUR: Bank Negara's international reserves fell US$600mil to US$104.6bil as at Oct 30, 2020 from US$105.2bil two weeks earlier.

The central bank said the reserves position is sufficient to finance 8.4 months of retained imports and is one times total short-term external debt

The main components of the international reserves comprised foreign currency reserves at US$97.1bil, International Monetary Fund reserves position (US$1.4bil), Special Drawing Rights (SDRs) (US$1.2bil), gold (US$2.4bil) and other reserve assets (US$2.5bil).
