Analysts laud Bank Negara’s OPR decision

Judging from Bank Negara’s tone in its latest statement, OCBC Bank economist Wellian Wiranto (pic) said the central bank appeared to be sanguine on growth outlook.

PETALING JAYA: While the Malaysian economy will likely emerge stronger in 2021, Bank Negara has cautioned that economic activity in some industries may remain below pre-Covid-19 levels as the pace of recovery will be uneven across sectors.

As for the domestic labour market, recovery will likely be slower next year, according to the central bank.
