GuocoLand gets demand from IRB

PETALING JAYA: GuocoLand (M) Bhd’s unit GLM Real Estate Holdings Sdn Bhd has been hit with an unpaid income tax demand of RM56.26mil and a RM26.33mil penalty by the Inland Revenue Board (IRB).

It received a notice of assessment from the IRB on Oct 12, for the year of assessment 2016 for the total of RM82.59mil.

The company said it would appeal and contest the notice as it believed it has reasonable grounds to do so, after consultation with its tax solicitors.
