RM121mil tax bill not likely to hurt Westports

Westports declined in most of yesterday’s trade, shaving off six sen at its lowest but ended the day flat at RM3.93 in response to this development.

PETALING JAYA: A RM120.6mil tax bill that has been slapped on port company Westports Holdings Bhd may not have an actual impact on its bottom line, say analysts who have shrugged off any concerns over the development.

AmResearch said it was not “overly perturbed” over the tax bill which is likely to turn into a long-drawn legal process that could drag on for years – without any actual impact on the company’s financial position.
