Malakoff RE-iterates its aim with bids for power plants

Power shift: Malakoff’s Tanjung Bin Power Plant in Johor. The firm is looking for more renewable energy projects to focus on the fast-growing sector.

PETALING JAYA: Malakoff Corp Bhd is looking for more renewable energy (RE) projects in line with its strategy to focus on the fast-growing sector, starting with taking part in the fourth cycle of large-scale solar (LSS4) and Johor’s waste-to-energy (WTE) power plants bids this year.

CGSCIMB Research, after a recent engagement with Malakoff, said the independent power producer is planning to build up its RE capacity again after its disposal of a 50% stake in the 420MW Macarthur Wind Farm in 2019.
