KUALA LUMPUR: Malakoff Bhd's recent proposed acquisition of about 71.44ha of freehold land from Eksklusif Pesona Sdn Bhd comes with a steep price tag as compared to the average plantation land cost in Malaysia, says PublicInvest Research.
The research house, which has a "trading buy" call on Malakoff, said it is positive on the land acquisition as an integral part of the group's future development of renewable energy (RE) power plants but took note of the expensive RM150mil acquisition price.
