KUALA LUMPUR: Stocks to watch on Monday include Icon Offshore Bhd, Sapura Energy Bhd, Amanah Harta Tanah PNB (AHP), Scientex Bhd and Ho Wah Genting Bhdusiness/marketwatch/stocks/?qcounter=GENTING' target='_blank'>Genting Bhd, according to JF Apex Research.

Amanah Harta PNB will be taken private by Permodalan Nasional Bhd (PNB) via a selective unit redemption (SUR) exercise, where minority unitholders will receive RM1 per unit.

Icon Offshore has secured a chartering contract from Zell Transportation Sdn Bhd (ZT) to supply offshore support vessels and chartering services, including the charter of Icon Valiant and Icon Aliza.

Sapura Energy’s 2QFY21 net profit rose 67% quarter-on-quarter to RM23.7mil from RM14.21mil, and staged a turnaround from the net loss of RM116.3mil a year ago.

The higher net profit was on the back of improved operating metrics from its engineering and construction segment.

Ta Win is setting up a healthcare arm, Ta Win Copper Biohealth Sdn Bhd (TWCBiohealth), to explore the downstream copper segment.

Scientex’s 4QFY20 net profit grew by 6.5% y-o-y to RM142.05mil from RM133.4mil, with quarterly revenue rising to RM954.63mil from RM938.77mil.

The group also proposed a bonus share issuance involving two bonus shares for every one Scientex share held (two-for-one), as well as free warrants on the basis of one free warrant for every five shares held (one-for-five).

HWGB’s joint venture partner, US-based E-MO Biology Inc (EBI), has entered into three research and development (R&D) agreements to produce COVID-19 vaccines.

HWGB Biotech chief executive officer said the agreements would bring in expertise that will help boost clinical trials in accordance with US laws.

Meanwhile, US markets tumbled on Friday as selldown of technology counters continued.

Earlier, European stocks declined following a spike in coronavirus cases dampening economic recovery.

“Following the negative performances in the US and Europe, the FBM KLCI could trend lower towards the support of 1,475 points,” JF Apex said.
