Calling the move by Facebook as unjustifiable, Association of Accredited Advertising Agents Malaysia (4As) president Andrew Lee (file pic) told StarBiz that: “The harsh actions by Facebook of imposing fines and the counter-action of banning the country are just ego and arrogance at play.

PETALING JAYA: Facebook’s threat to global regulators after Australia’s plan to force the tech giant to compensate publishers for using contents in its platforms has not gone down well.

Industry observers and media analysts describe the move as a bully tactic and a form of blackmail by Facebook to avert from making payments for news usage as well as sharing ad revenue generated from the news contents.
