Trading ideas: Astro, Brahim’s, T7, Omesti, Malton

KUALA LUMPUR: Stocks to watch on Thursday include Astro Malaysia Holdings Bhd, Brahim's Holdings Bhd, T7 Global Bhd, Omesti Bhd and Malton Bhd, according to JF Apex Research.

Astro’s net profit for the second quarter ended July 31, 2020 (2QFY21) jumped 81% to RM133.65mil, from RM73.84mil for 1QFY21.

Brahim's has parted ways with its white knight MRI VC Bhd, which inked a heads of agreement (HOA) in December 2019 to help Brahim's with its regularisation plan.

T7 Global has secured a contract worth RM16.93mil from the East Coast Economic Region Development Council (ECERDC) to build the Endau-Mersing Fish Processing Park in Endau, Johor.

Omesti has bagged a contract worth RM14.44mil from the Road Transport Department (JPJ) for

maintenance of the Automated Awareness Security System (AwAS).

Malton Bhd, which has received an unusual market activity (UMA) query from Bursa Malaysia today over the sharp increase in its share price recently, said it is unaware of what could have caused this.

Meanwhile, US markets ended flat overnight after the Federal Reserve indicated there will be no interest rate hike until 2023.

Earlier, European stocks advanced ahead of the Fed's policy meeting.

“Following the lacklustre performance in Wall Street, the FBM KLCI could take a breather and hover below the resistance of 1,550 points,” JF Apex said.
