PETALING JAYA: Former Malaysia Airports Holdings Bhd (MAHB) group CEO Raja Azmi Raja Nazuddin (pic) is the new chief operating officer (COO) of the Malaysian Aviation Commission (Mavcom) from today.
“Raja Azmi brings with him extensive knowledge and experience in the aviation industry as well as the corporate sector, ” it said in a statement yesterday.
Mavcom said it was confident he would be able to lead it well in promoting a consumer-focused and resilient civil aviation sector.
Raja Azmi replaces Azmir Zain, who resigned as COO effective Aug 14 as he wanted to pursue other interests.
He had been with the commission since April 1,2016.
Mavcom executive chairman Datuk Seri Saripuddin Kasim thanked Azmir for his leadership and contributions to the industry, consumers and Mavcom.
Raja Azmi was CEO of MAHB from Jan 4,2019 to Jan 6,2020. Prior to that, he was it’s group chief financial officer.
He has a Master of Business Administration from the University of Bath, UK. He is also a member of the Malaysian Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Malaysian Institute of Accountants.
