KUALA LUMPUR: Raja Azmi Raja Nazuddin will be the new chief operating officer of the Malaysian Aviation Commission (Mavcom) with effect from Tuesday, Sept 15.
“Raja Azmi brings with him extensive knowledge and experience in the aviation industry as well as the corporate sector, ” it said in a statement on Monday.
Mavcom said it was confident he will be able to lead it well in promoting a consumer-focused and resilient civil aviation sector.
Raja Azmi will replace Azmir Zain who resigned as COO, effective Aug 14, as he wanted to pursue other interests. He had been with the Commission since April 1,2016.
Mavcom executive chairman Datuk Seri Saripuddin Kasim thanked Azmir for his leadership and contributions to the industry, consumers and Mavcom.
Raja Azmi was formerly the group CEO of Malaysia Airports Holdings Bhd from Jan 4,2019 to Jan 6,2020. Prior to that, he was the group chief financial officer.
He has a Master of Business Administration from the University of Bath, UK. He is also a member of the Malaysian Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Malaysian Institute of Accountants.
