Green Packet posts higher Q2 revenue

KUALA LUMPUR: Green Packet Bhd posted a 17% jump in revenue to RM145mil for the second quarter ended June 30 compared to RM124.3mil a year earlier, driven by its software and devices, and communication services segments.

In a statement today, the technology, media, and telecommunications player said its software and devices segment recorded the highest growth rate, surging 171% to RM15mil in the second quarter due to higher shipments to Asean, Europe, the Middle East and Latin America. Its digital services segment and communication services segment saw revenues increasing by 68% and 9% to RM2.5mil and RM127.5mil, respectively.

Green Packet said the higher revenue was contributed by its Perak Prihatin project, Kedah project, online e-commerce transactions and new SME merchants, as well as higher sales from the telecommunication carriers in Asean, Hong Kong and China.
