SunCon, MRCB George Kent sign agreement for LRT3 package


In a filing with Bursa Malaysia yesterday, SunCon said the agreement was signed yesterday following the appointment of MRCBGK as a turnkey contractor as a result of the change from a project delivery partnership to a turnkey contract pursuant to a contract between Prasarana and MRCBGK.

KUALA LUMPUR: Sunway Construction Group Bhd’s (SunCon) unit, Sunway Construction Sdn Bhd (SCSB) has signed an agreement with MRCB George Kent (MRCBGK) for Package GS07-08 of the Light Rail Transit Line 3 (LRT3) project from Bandar Utama to Johan Setia by Prasarana Malaysia Bhd.

In a filing with Bursa Malaysia yesterday, SunCon said the agreement was signed yesterday following the appointment of MRCBGK as a turnkey contractor as a result of the change from a project delivery partnership to a turnkey contract pursuant to a contract between Prasarana and MRCBGK.

“Pursuant to the agreement, the scope of works in the Package GS07-08 contract has been revised and agreed with the salient amendments, ” it said.

The amendments entailed changes in the design and scope of the project, and with this, a new revised contract price of RM1.295bil is agreed between SCSB and MRCBGK; and the revised completion date for the project will be Nov 30,2023.

The project included the construction and completion of guideway, stations, park and rides, ancillary buildings, and other associated works. — Bernama
