ACSM also commended Bursa Malaysia and the Securities Commission for their continued efforts to maintain a fair and orderly market that has contributed to the vibrancy in recent weeks.

KUALA LUMPUR: The Association of Stockbroking Companies Malaysia (ASCM) has clarified that a move by one stockbroking house to prohibit contra transactions for certain counters is not an industry-wide practice.

It said in a statement on Tuesday the action taken by the broking house was an independent initiative to curb contra trading of certain counters to manage their business in accordance with their risk appetite.
