PETALING JAYA: Gas Malaysia Bhd posted a 9% drop in net profit to RM44.62mil for the second quarter ended June 30 compared to RM49mil a year earlier, on the back of 11.3% lower revenue of RM1.54bil from RM1.74bil previously.
In a filing with Bursa Malaysia, the group attributed the decline in topline and bottomline to lower sales volume and lower average tariff for natural gas due to softening in demand as a result of the coronavirus (Covid-19) pandemic.
