Global semicon sales up 5.1% in June but headwinds seen in 2H

KUALA LUMPUR: Worldwide sales of semiconductors rose by 5.1% in June to US$34.5bil from US$32.9bil a year ago on stronger growth in the Americas but uncertainties persist in the second half.

The US-based Semiconductor Industry Association (SIA) said in a statement posted on its website on Monday that global sales in June were however, down by 0.3% from May's US$34.6bil.
