Bursa attributes strong profit to retail investors

KUALA LUMPUR: Bursa Malaysia Bhd, the country’s stock exchange operator, said retail investors has played a major role in helping it reach a strong profit growth in its second quarter for the financial year ending Dec 31,2020 (FY20).

“If we remember, the FBM KLCI dropped to about 1,200 points and there was value there. So investors have responded to this value and returned to the market. With lower interest rates and fixed deposit rates now, this releases new liquidity to the market.
