Quick take: Versatile shares fall 9.3% after UMA query

KUALA LUMPUR: Shares in Versatile Creative Bhd (VCB) fell almost 9.3% in early trade Tuesday after it was slapped with an unusual market activity (UMA) query by Bursa Securities yesterday.

The printing and packaging solutions provider fell 9.29%, or 6.5 sen to 63.5 sen with 557,000 shares done.

“VCB has been continuously on the lookout for opportunities to expand its core business and/or diversify its current businesses to enhance the earnings and improve its financial performance of VCB and its subsidiary companies,” it replied to the UMA query.

“VCB Group is currently in its preliminary stage of exploring with its major shareholder pertaining to a potential business arrangement,” it added.

Versatile Creative said apart from that, it is not aware of any reason in relation to the group's business and affairs that may account for the trading activity.
