KUALA LUMPUR: RHB Research is optimistic about MISC Bhd’s prospects after the company won six very large ethane carrier (VLEC) charter contracts, which the brokerage says should expand the company’s recurring income base. The research house noted this would also mark MISC’s first venture into the niche VLEC space.

In addition, MISC would become the third VLEC owner globally after Mitsui OSK Lines and Evergas. There are currently only less than 10 vessels operating globally, RHB Research said in its report.
