Icon Offshore says in talks with Perisai to buy drilling business


StarBiz had in its report “Game-changer deal for Icon Offshore” on Monday stated the company was buying a subsidiary of Perisai Petroleum Bhd that owns and operates a jack-up rig known as Perisai Pacific 101 (PP101) at a price tag of US$40mil (RM173mil).

KUALA LUMPUR: Icon Offshore Bhd confirmed it is in talks with Perisai Petroleum Teknologi Bhd to buy a subsidiary which owns and operates a jack-up rig.

In a statement to Bursa Malaysia, it said on Monday it was “in negotiation and discussion with Perisai and its subsidiaries” to purchase the rig and equity stakes in the related drilling business with a view towards finalising the terms and conditions of the proposals.
