AirAsia posts lower revenue in Q1 due to pandemic


KUALA LUMPUR: AirAsia Group Bhd said revenue declined 15% in the first quarter amid an increasing and unprecedented travel restrictions due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

Turnover in the three month ended March 31 was RM2.31bil compared with RM2.73bil in the previous corresponding period.

In a statement, AirAsia chief executive officer Tan Sri Tony Fernandes said the current period is “by far the toughest challenge” the group has ever faced.
