Bursa ekes out mild gains as Public Bank, Axiata lift


KUALA LUMPUR: Bursa Malaysia chalked up mild gains early Friday, underpinned by Public Bank and Axiata, as investor sentiment was shored up by the late rally on Wall Street and firmer key Asian markets.

At 9.11am, the FBM KLCI was up 4.55 points or 0.31% to 1,493.75. Turnover was 462.46 million shares valued at RM139.02mil. There were 283 gainers, 124 losers and 239 counters unchanged.
