Lii Hen’s net profit rises 15% in first quarter

PETALING JAYA: Lii Hen Industries Bhd’s net profit rose 15% to RM19.83mil in the first quarter ended March 31 from RM17.24mil a year ago due to the appreciation of the US dollar against the ringgit.

In a filing with Bursa Malaysia, the group said the stronger greenback contributed to a net foreign currency gain of RM2.66mil, which improved its profit before tax by 12.6%.
