Bank Negara foreign reserves at US$102.8bil

According to Bank Negara, the reserves position is sufficient to finance 8.2 months of retained imports and is 1.1 times total the short-term external debt.

PETALING JAYA: The international reserves of Bank Negara fell US$100mil over a two-week period to US$102.8bil as at June 15,2020.

According to Bank Negara, the reserves position is sufficient to finance 8.2 months of retained imports and is 1.1 times total the short-term external debt.

The main components of the international reserves were foreign currency reserves at US$102.8bil, International Monetary Fund reserves position (US$1.2bil), Special Drawing Rights (US$1.1bil), gold (US$2bil) and other reserve assets (US$3.2bil).
