Bursa closes off day’s low, emerging markets in the red


The KLCI started sharply lower at 1,509 before paring some of the losses later in the day on local fund support and buying by local retail investors.

KUALA LUMPUR: Stocks on Bursa Malaysia managed to close off their day’s low Friday on some mild bargain hunting despite the weaker emerging markets which were impacted by the overnight tumble on Wall Street.

At 5pm, the FBM KLCI was down 11.23 points or 0.72% to 1,546.02. It started sharply lower at 1,509 before paring some of the losses later in the day on local fund support and buying by local retail investors.
