Govt incentives seen spurring hotel sector

PETALING JAYA: The Malaysia Budget Hotel Association has seen more than half of its members wiped out by the Covid-19 pandemic, but is optimistic that the recent incentives announced by the government will spur the hotel sector.

Association national deputy president Sri Ganesh Michiel said the government’s Short-Term Economic Recovery plan, announced last week, will provide much assistance for both the business operators and the employees in the tourism and hotel industry, which was the first to be affected by the Covid-19 crisis.
