Bursa surges, tracks Wall St and Asian markets

KUALA LUMPUR: Bursa Malaysia surged early Tuesday, tracking the stronger key Asian markets and overnight on Wall Street as investors’ risk appetite was fanned by hopes of a recovery in the economies.

At 9.10am, the FBM KLCI was up 30.09 points or 1.93%to 1,586.42. Turnover was 817.43 million shares valued at RM513.05mil. Gainers beat losers 590 to 69 while 234 counters were unchanged.
