UWC earnings soar in third quarter

PETALING JAYA: Integrated engineering support services provider UWC Bhd registered a 65.4% year-on-year jump in net profit to RM14.6mil for the third quarter ended April 30,2020, driven by stronger demand from its global semiconductor and life science customers.

This was despite being restricted to operate at only 50% capacity for seven out of the 13 weeks in the third quarter, beginning March 18, due to the implementation of the movement control order (MCO).
