Ta Ann earnings to play catch-up

On the timber division, Maybank IB Research said it remained profitable, as TA Ann has posted a pre-tax profit of RM8mil (-7% on-year, -RM13mil including a RM5mil provision on inventory at its plywood division for the fourth quarter of financial year 2019).

PETALING JAYA: Ta Ann Holdings Bhd’s earnings may still play catch-up in the second half of 2020 on seasonally stronger second-half output and as the company has locked-in about 20%-30% of its palm oil monthly output at RM2,500 per tonne.

In a research note yesterday, Maybank IB Research said the company’s monthly output price was better than the current spot price of RM2,273 per tonne.
