StanChart Malaysia lowering BR, BLR by 50bps, effective May 14

StanChart Malaysia managing director and CEO Abrar A. Anwar said the reduction in the lending rates would add more support to domestic economic conditions weakened by containment measures and border closures that were implemented to curb the coronavirus outbreak.

KUALA LUMPUR: Standard Chartered Malaysia is lowering its base rate (BR) and base lending rate (BLR) by 50 basis points to 2.52% and 5.7% per annum respectively on May 14.

It said on Friday the rate adjustment of -0.5% also applies to its fixed deposits interest and term deposits-i profit rates across all tenors.
