PETALING JAYA: The manufacturing sector is expected to soften in the first half of this year (1H20), which may lead to a growth contraction of 4.7% for the year as it continues to be battered by the coronavirus (Covid-19) pandemic.
BIMB Securities Research said looking ahead, the operating capacity will remain pressured by the prolonged movement control order (MCO) which has disrupted supply chains, resulting in difficulties to source for inputs.
