PETALING JAYA: As widely expected, Bank Negara has cut the overnight policy rate (OPR) by 50 basis points (bps), thus bringing the benchmark interest rate to 2% to lend support to Malaysia’s flagging economy.
With the cut in the OPR, commercial banks have followed suit with a corresponding adjustment in their lending rates as well as deposit rates.
