KUALA LUMPUR: Bursa Malaysia tracked a surge on Wall Street overnight as investors renewed buying in equities on hopes that the worst was over for the Covid-19 pandemic, and even as the demand outlook for crude oil brightened.
Global equities were generally higher on Tuesday on the heels of a 7.7% jump in the Dow Jones overnight as the latest daily tally of new coronavirus cases in the US fell under 30,000 while there were also improvements recorded in Italy.
